Chesapeake Bay

It's Hardrock's guitar and you can see from the boat's side "Chesapeake" standing for the name of the inner bay of Maryland. Here I found one Barnes & Noble but it seemed not better than Eslite or PageOne in Taiwan. So Amazon becomes the medium between knowledge and me.

Inner Harbor at Balrtimore

It's the inner harbor at Baltimore cutting Maryland State into two pieces. It's my first city here but I am a little disappointed about this city. Maybe you have heard about Baltimore for a long time, but it's very old , boring, and nothing special for me.

Terrapins (Terps)

What's that? He is our mascot- Terrapins or Terps. We have a very good basketball team and a fair football team. Some good guy you may know is from the former-Steve Francis(NBA star @Orlando Magic). However, the latter is worse, at least I think it's not so good. Well, the professional teams in Maryland also sucks. Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens and Orioles are not so strong as before, though Ravens is NFL champion in 2001. BTW, if you are a professional sports fan, the states is a good place for you.

Campus

I think it's one of very few ways on which people can walk because UMD is a University for vehicles rather than human. It's not like the campus in Taiwan or even other campus in the states. Nontheless, it's wonderful being here for study.

McKeldin Library

The Mckeldin Library is the main one in UMD. It's the view from the administration office to it. I think the books here are more than those in NTU. But NTU has a very beatiful new Library. Nothing can be always perfect. Just enjoy what you have now.

Main Drive at Univ. of Maryland

It's the main drive in the campus. Every evening the traffic in the campus is always like that in Taipei, even worse. You can always walk on the sidewalks to see a lot of squirrels eating. I often think if I should call this country as a squirrel country. Why am I here? Could somebody tell me what's in your mind?

Turtles School !

What's that? It's Terrapins or you can call him "terps". Go Go Terps! Someone may wonder why our web system is called "Testudo". My dear girlfriend told me that it's kind of a Turtle.What? You don't understand. The real thing is UMD is a turtle school. T-shirts, caps, sweat-shirts... are full with Terps....How sad! I am a turtle student.....

(MMM) M Mark in Maryland...

Big M means the University of Maryland, College Park. Of course, you can also say that stands for Michigan, Maine, Mississippi,...etc. However, the color would be changed with time by our staff. It may depend on the events, football or basketball games (I guess). Anyway, welcome to my BLOG to see some photos. I will try to make it updated more often.
